About this lot

Origin Gaharo Hill is located in Gitega Province, in central Burundi. Coffee is grown here between 1,700 and 2,100 meters above sea level. As in much of the country, the primary variety cultivated is Red Bourbon. Introduced during the Belgian colonial period in the 1930s, coffee production remains a vital source of income for hundreds of thousands of Burundian families today. In 2025, 814 producers delivered coffee cherries from Gaharo Hill. Project Bukeye is the first washing station established by Long Miles Coffee, Osito’s local partner in Burundi. It is also the birthplace of the Coffee Scouts programme, which provides year-round agronomic support and training to coffee producers.
