Coffee producer

Gasharu

Gasharu Coffee is a Rwandan washing station and exporter in Nyamasheke District, Western Province, founded in 1976 when Celestin Rumenerangabo planted his first coffee trees. Today the station sources Red Bourbon cherries from approximately 1,650 smallholder farmers at 1,600–2,100 masl, benefiting from proximity to Nyungwe National Park's rich microclimate. Gasharu offers washed and natural processing, and since 2018 has pioneered natural and anaerobic fermentation methods in Rwanda, a country where such techniques remain uncommon.
