Highwire Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee roaster and cafe group founded in 2011 in Oakland, California, by Rich Avella, Eric Hashimoto, and Robert Myers. The roastery operates out of Emeryville, with retail cafes in Oakland, Alameda, Albany, and Walnut Creek. Highwire focuses on balanced, approachable coffees roasted to highlight origin character, and runs a tenant roaster training program sharing their roasting space with other coffee professionals. The company is known for an employee-first culture, profit-sharing, and living wages.
