Kuma Coffee
About
Kuma Coffee is a direct-trade specialty roaster founded in 2008 by Peter Mark Ingalls in Seattle, Washington. Starting as a garage roasting operation with a 2-kilogram roaster, Kuma has grown into a nationally recognised 4-person team with a singular focus on quality. The roastery sources unique microlots directly from farms in Ethiopia, Kenya, Colombia, Burundi, Honduras and beyond, paying a premium well above commodity and fair-trade prices. Roasting leans toward lighter profiles that highlight the natural complexity of each origin. Kuma does not operate a cafe; its coffees are sold online and stocked by specialty shops nationwide.
