About

Specialty coffee roastery and cafe group founded in Paris in 2016 as Kawa, rebranded as Tanat in 2025. Co-founded by Alexis Gagnaire, who earned a silver medal at the 2021 French Roasting Championship and placed third at the 2019 World AeroPress Championship. Tanat selects coffees directly from farms, producers, and cooperatives it has worked with for many years. The team is structured with equal input across all roastery staff. In 2024 Tanat was named the best independent coffee shop in Europe by industry professionals, and their Victoria location ranked 7th best coffee shop in the world. Cafe locations in Paris, Lille, Nantes, and Marseille.
