About

Specialty coffee roastery, café and barista school in Essen, founded in 2018 as an online shop by friends Alex Winter and Max Kranz. Bohnenkartell opened its first physical café in 2018 and began in-house roasting around 2020, using a drum roaster and sourcing from importers with transparent supply chains. The roastery and coffee school are at Witteringstraße 10a; the café at Witteringstraße 41a, both in Essen-Süd.
